Ever the epitome of thoughtful leadership at Quaker Windows & Doors, Thomas M. Knoll, realized early on that youth would be the ones to shape the future, not only for Quaker, but for the society we live and work in each day.
Tom, according to his sons Scott & Jeremy Knoll, made it through a lot of tough times himself. Things that not only shaped his life, but helped Tom become a strong leader in his community, utilizing his own personal experiences to offer guidance and understanding to others, particularly youth. He sponsored many youth related events, and always made sure students had a summer job at Quaker if they wanted one. For that, and many other reasons, Quaker established the TMK Memorial Scholarship in his honor, shortly after his passing.
In 2019, the TMK Memorial Scholarship was able to award scholarships to the following 14 students:
Anna Bruno, Homeschool. Anna is the daughter of Quaker employee Charlie Bruno. She plans to study Biological Sciences at Missouri University of Science & Technology this fall.
Kylie Daniels, Linn High School. Daughter of Quaker employee Bethany Daniels, Kylie plans to attend Rolla Technical Institute to pursue a career as a Radiology Technician.
Noah Dickneite, Fatima High School. Noah is an employee of Quaker in the Vinyl department, as well as son of Quaker employee Andre Dickneite. Noah will be studying for a degree in Business at State Tech this fall.
Makayla Honse, Vienna High School. Makayla, daughter of Quaker employee Sherry Honse, also works in the Vinyl department here at Quaker. She plans to pursue a degree in Nursing at Lincoln University.
Anna Jung, Eldon High School. Anna is planning on pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at Missouri University of Science & Technology this fall.
Kendra Iven, Fatima High School. Kendra works in our Aluminum Paint department, and is also the daughter of Quaker employee Randy Iven. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Madison Kliethermes, Fatima High School. Madison works in Vinyl at Quaker Windows & Doors and is planning to attend Baylor University this fall for Biology Pre-Med.
Amber Quick, Fatima High School. Daughter of Quaker employee Patty Quick, Amber also works in the Wood department. She plans on becoming an Esthetician, and will be attending Merrell University this fall.
Madalyn Robison, Eldon High School. Madalyn will be attending State Tech in pursuit of a degree in Drafting/Engineering this fall.
Cassidy Schenewerk, Fatima High School. Cassidy works in the Glass department here at Quaker. She plans on pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at either Lincoln or Truman State University.
Jonathan Schwartz, Fatima High School. Jonathan is an employee in Quaker’s Glass department. He is attending Missouri’s University of Science & Technology to pursue Engineering this fall.
Paige (Evelyn) Struemph, St. Elizabeth High School. Daughter of Quaker employee Traci Struemph, Paige also works in Quaker’s Vinyl department. She plans to attend Missouri State in pursuit of a degree in Engineering.
Olivia Swarthout, Fatima High School. Olivia works in our Vinyl department here at Quaker, and is also daughter of Quaker employee Jeff Swarthout. She plans to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy with an Associates in Business at State Tech.
Alex Verslues, Fatima High School. Alex works in the Wood department at Quaker Windows & Doors, and is planning to attend Missouri State University West Plains this fall to pursue a degree in Graphic Design.
To date, the Knoll family, and Quaker Windows, have kept Tom’s priorities alive by offering over $100,000 in scholarships to high school seniors in our community. Honoring his memory by continuing to help grow and shape the future. And, while many of these students may ultimately return to Quaker, Tom’s guidance will go with all of them, as they pursue their educational destinies, and become experts in their respective fields.
